Overview
The Economic Calendar provides a real-time, chronological feed of global macroeconomic data releases and events for the current day. It covers a broad international universe making it a useful reference for understanding the macro backdrop across all major and emerging markets.
The calendar is updated continuously throughout the trading day as new data is released.
View Toggle Icons
Two icons appear in the top-left of the calendar area:
Globe icon β switches to a geographic/world view of events
Bar chart icon β switches to the default list/data view
These allow you to toggle between different visual representations of the same calendar data.
Event Rows
Each row in the calendar represents a single economic data release or event. The columns displayed for each row are:
Time β the scheduled local release time of the event in 24-hour format (e.g. 00:00, 07:30, 10:00). Where multiple events share the same time and country, the time is only shown on the first row of that group. Events that are imminent or currently releasing show a red 00:00 countdown badge.
Country β the country flag and country name associated with the release (e.g. π°π· South Korea, π―π΅ Japan, π¦πΊ Australia).
Chart icon β a small bar chart icon to the left of the event name. Clicking this opens a historical chart for that data series, allowing you to see how the indicator has trended over time.
Event Name β the name of the economic release or indicator (e.g. CPI Growth MM, Foreign Bond Investment, HSBC Manufacturing PMI, Balance on Goods, House Prices, CPI YY). A chevron (βΎ) next to the name indicates that a dropdown with additional detail or related releases is available. An asterisk (*) at the end of a name indicates a preliminary or flash estimate.
Actual β the released value once the data has been published. For events not yet released, this column shows "Coming soon" in red, indicating the result is pending. Once released, the actual value is displayed with its unit (e.g. %, B for billions, Index).
Forecast β the analyst consensus estimate for the release, shown with its unit (e.g. 0.6%, 2,850 MAUD, 55.2 Index). Not all events have a forecast available.
Previous β the prior period's released value for the same indicator, shown with its unit (e.g. 0.3%, 2,631 MAUD, 56.9 Index). This allows you to compare the incoming data against the most recent historical reading at a glance.
Event Status Indicators
Coming soon (red text) β the data has not yet been released at the scheduled time; the result is forthcoming
Numeric value with unit β the actual data has been released and is displayed alongside the forecast and previous values for comparison
Tips for Getting Started
Scan the Forecast and Previous columns together to gauge market expectations. A release significantly above or below the forecast is more likely to move markets than one that meets consensus.
Use the Chart icon on any row to pull up the historical trend for that indicator β this gives context for whether the current reading is high, low, or in line with recent history.
Pay attention to the Time column when planning around events. Releases early in the morning (00:00β07:00) will often have already impacted Asian and European markets before Western markets open.
The "Coming soon" label in red identifies which releases are still pending for the day, helping you know what data flow is still ahead.
Keep an eye on high-impact indicators such as CPI (inflation), PMI (business activity), Trade Balance, and Foreign Investment flows, as these tend to have the greatest potential to move currency and equity markets.
